FAQ

My chocolate arrived with white spots. Is it damaged?

Don't worry, it's not like that! The white spots on the chocolate are caused by temperature changes, but it's still safe to eat. I'm working on a blog explaining why this happens. I'll link it here as soon as possible.

Why is it more expensive than other chocolates?

Because cocoa is expensive, we don't use fillers to reduce the amount of cocoa in our products. Also, when you buy Mashpi chocolate you're not just eating a chocolate bar, you're actively funding the restoration of the forests of the Chocó Andino.

How long do chocolates last on a hanger or in storage?

Most of our products have an expiration date of 2 years from manufacture.

What are your packaging made of?

Our chocolate outer packaging is made from sugarcane bagasse, so it is recyclable and compostable. The inner lining of the chocolate bars is made from recyclable plastic. Our other products tend to vary, but we always do our best to find recyclable and/or compostable packaging.
